We are a non-profit organisation, a community of people from all over Europe, united by a shared passion: Bringing people together across borders with unique RPG adventures, events, and game design.

Our Members:

We are so much more than the sum of our parts. Our members are a diverse group of people, spanning 18 countries. We are an inclusive community to all. We are creatives, game designers, students, travellers, artists, engineers, youth workers and so much more.

Our volunteers from Iceland, Great Britain, Italy and Greece joined forces at our HQ in Germany to push even further!

We are Dragon Legion.

Our shared vision:

We aim to build an open minded participatory community where we create, learn and play together.

We believe in the power of RPGs, developing the European Role-play Approach (ERA), building new approaches to non-formal learning and innovating the concept of gamification.

We see Role playing games as a powerful tool, not only to bring people together, but as a mode of self development, training creative critical thinking, social skills and cultivating cultural exchange.

What do we do?

We have been running unique immersive RPG events for over 7 years in 8 European countries and developing the ERA as a non-formal learning technique.

We create educational role-play systems for schools,  our events and members based on real world mythologies.

Our online discord server is a hub for many creative projects, used for workshops, games, meetings and remote collaboration.

Events: Our events are affordable and accessible to all, though mostly targeted at young people who haven’t had the opportunity to travel. Whether its GD trainings, immersive player events, conventions, or creative projects; they are always rooted in bringing young people together, providing them real world experience and skill building opportunities.

We have some new exiting event concepts in the works, so stay tuned; our in person event are paused but by no means cancelled.

Education: Right now Dragon Legion is designing new systems tailor made for school level non-formal learning.

We believe in the gamification of learning, and that roleplaying games have endless opportunities not only for specific subject learning and linguistic skills, but also for civic, creative, cultural and social skills development.

Dragon Legion In Action

Our group at Midguard convention in 2018 Laugardalshöll, Reykjavík, Iceland. The Midgard team invited us to host games of all kinds, in various systems and game design workshops.

In the week before a diverse group of young people, including 7 nationalities, created adventures inspired by Norse mythology using our unique RuneStone rules. At the convention we represented Dragon Legion asa community, hosted game design workshops and almost 30 game sessions along with an event favourite- Go Goblins Go!

A Look Inside our worlds

The world of Sápmi – A historical game setting inspired by indigenous Sámi culture in northern Scandinavia

In our Sweden 2016 GD training event we hosted game design training sessions, research and work building. The game setting we began to create at that event is based on the real tribes of the Sámi located in the northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia.

We deeply respect the Sámi culture and wanted to stay as historically accurate as possible in our descriptions, we created this to pay homage to the Sámi and the beautiful land we played in. However, we have taken the liberty of merging different historical facts and mythical elements to create a low fantasy RPG setting that is exiting, playable and filled with mythos.

We are playing a demo adventure of our Sámi setting at Gary Con online, and will be releasing a preview version of the rule-set soon! Stay tuned, there is more to come…
